Corona-based Monster Beverage Company is hosting an electronic waste collection event on Saturday, January 14 from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
The recycling is event supported by ECS Refining’s ecocollective program
Consumers and businesses are invited to come to the Monster Energy Warehouse at 1990 Pomona Road in Corona to drop off electronics and enjoy a Monster power drink at the same time.
E-waste donations will be recycled, and the money raised will be used to help grant wishes for children in Orange, San Bernardino, and Riverside counties.
The event is conveniently scheduled after the holiday season, when many old electronics have been replaced with newer technology.
“Every year, billions of tons of e-waste are thrown away in the U.S. E-waste contains heavy metals such as lead and mercury that can filter into the environment, causing water contamination and air pollution,” said Marci Rodgers, director of marketing at ECS Refining. “Responsibly recycling e-waste is good for the environment and for the economy.”
Additionally, ECS Refining will support local business e-waste recycling needs through February 2012, being on-call for pick-ups throughout Orange County and the Inland Empire.
For personal security, certificates of destruction are available to ensure business and personal data is completely destroyed.
All donations will benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
